Prior to leading our programmes, Ruth’s background is in marketing and communications. She worked for 15 years across the private and third sectors, leading teams ranging from fundraisers to digital marketers and PR, in industries from publishing to events to charity. Ruth is passionate about the natural world and ensuring that our food system is healthy, fair and sustainable.
Ali joined the Food Foundation in 2025 as our Operations Manager. Before coming on board, she managed the Lambeth and Croydon Foodbank, overseeing the delivery of emergency food parcels and practical support to families in need. Working closely with people experiencing hardship and seeing the challenges they face has fuelled her passion for improving access to healthy foods to everyone. Ali is a Registered Dietitian and has worked across both the NHS and private practice, supporting children and families to improve their health and wellbeing. She specialises in food allergies and the management of chronic conditions through dietary changes. She is driven by a desire to translate research evidence into relevant, actionable advice for real-world situations. Ali has enjoyed volunteering in community food projects and has regularly supported her local free lunch club and cook and eat sessions in Lambeth.
