Hello, I'm Jamie. A 20 year old living in South Wales I became a food ambassador after being taught about issues surrounding food systems in our country, like food insecurity, as part of creating the citizen manifesto for the FFCC, and wanting to do more to improve and fix these problems, I joined the Food Foundation, which has allowed me to advocate for a happier, healthier Britain.
I became a Food Ambassador to raise awareness about the importance of fairer food systems. Growing up in Namibia and now living in Nottingham, I’ve witnessed how food poverty is not a distant issue, it’s a today problem. As a PhD student researching sustainable food supply chains, I’m committed to learning and contributing to real solutions. We need more young people active in this space to build a future where access to good food is a right, not a privilege.
