Ruwaad is committed to helping close the widening gap in food inequality and ensuring that every person has access to affordable, high-quality nutritious meals. Coming from a minority Bangladeshi background, he has seen how diet-related health issues disproportionately affect South Asian communities. He speaks from personal experience about how vulnerable people are affected by a low-quality diet, especially students on free school meals, and how it can snowball into more serious health issues. He believes that nutrient-dense food should be inherently available to all people, not having to resort to cheap fast food or going to bed hungry. He is passionate about addressing the inequalities that exist around access, affordability, and nutrition, and is committed to supporting his community in making healthier choices.
