Podcast: Recipe for Change

Recipe for Change campaign podcast

With a new government food strategy imminent 2025 could be a breakthrough year for the Recipe for Change campaign!

So for our latest podcast we explore ways to incentivise a healthier food industry with James Bethell, a Conservative Peer, Adam Briggs, a public health doctor from The Health Foundation, Antony Yousefian, a partner at The First Thirty, Dr Alison Tedstone, former Chief Nutritionist at the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England, and our Head of Policy and Advocacy Hannah Brinsden.

The Recipe for Change campaign is a 50-strong coalition of organisations, led by Sustain: The alliance for better food and farming, Obesity Health Alliance, Impact on Urban Health, British Heart Foundation and The Food Foundation, calling for an industry levy to make food healthier.

Campaigners hope to build on the success of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy, which led to 46,000 tonnes of sugar being taken out of soft drinks and raised £1.5 billion for programmes to support children's health.
