Reducing Health Disparities Animation

The Government wants to reduce health inequalities as part of its levelling up agenda. Our explainer animation below shows why improving what people eat needs to be central to the plan. To improve what people eat, prices of healthy and unhealthy foods need to be rebalanced. To do this Government should consider a levy on manufacturers who use unhealthy ingredients, and investment in stronger nutritional safety nets such as Free School Meals, the Healthy Start scheme and benefits and wages to help the least well off afford good food.
