Podcast: Has the 'sugar tax' improved our health?

Podcast image

It's been five years since the government introduced the Soft Drinks Industry Levy, otherwise known as the sugar tax.

In our latest podcast, Dr Rupy Aujla, a GP, author, and presenter of the Doctor's Kitchen, explores the impact of the policy on reducing obesity levels and improving the nation's health.

We hear from campaigners such as chef Jamie Oliver, who helped persuade the Government to introduce the measure, and from a leading drinks company boss about how the regulation works and how consumers responded to formulation changes.
