The Food Strategy White Paper was billed as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform England’s food system, and improve our health, our economy, and the planet.

It was three years in the making, building on a set of ambitious recommendations which were made in 2021 by Henry Dimbleby in his independent review of the food system – the National Food Strategy. 

The Food Foundation's Executive Director, Anna Taylor, and Director of the Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford, Prof Sir Charles Godfrey, met to discuss whether it lived up to the hype.
