The Broken Plate Launch
TEN VITAL SIGNS REVEALING THE HEALTH OF OUR FOOD SYSTEM, ITS IMPACT ON OUR LIVES & THE REMEDIES WE MUST PURSUE
The Broken Plate is the Food Foundation’s annual “State of the Nation’s Food Health” reporting on 10 key metrics (or vital signs) by which the health outcomes of the food system can be measured. We have a special focus on children and the impact of their current diets on their health trajectory. These vital signs will be published every year to assess progress or deterioration.
We have developed this report in collaboration with CEDAR, University of Cambridge, Action on Sugar, The Eating Better Alliance, The Resolution Foundation and it includes commentary from leading voices on food and inequalities: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Jamie Oliver, Kathleen Kerridge, Lord David Willetts, Professor Graham MacGregor, Professor Sir Michael Marmot, Sadiq Khan, Shirley Cramer CBE, Tom Watson MP & Tony Juniper CBE.
During the launch event, we will hear directly from parliamentarians about their views on the report, and hear a young person’s perspective on the issues.
