Health Foundation poll finds public perceptions of health policy have shifted during Covid-19

A poll of just under 2,000 adults conducted by the Health Foundation at the start of May found that 86% now believe national government has a ‘great deal’ or ‘fair amount’ of responsibility for ensuring people generally stay healthy – a significant change since 2018 when just 61% agreed with this statement. The poll also revealed high levels of concern around health and financial security, with 77% concerned about the impact of social distancing on the health and wellbeing of the nation, 41% having experience a drop in income, and 54% having struggled to get basic food items during lockdown.
